10 Rainy Day Activities for Kids

Even if bad weather is keeping you cooped up inside, there are still ways for your children to burn off some of their extra energy.
- Play hide and seek.
- Create an obstacle course. Move the coffee table and breakables out of your family room and set up chairs, boxes, and other objects for your children to climb over and under.
- Make a fort. Drape sheets and blankets over furniture and let your children play with their toys inside.
- Bake cookies.
- Make play dough (there are lots of easy recipes online).
- Have a pillow fight.
- Put on a play. Let your children make up a story and then act it out. Or, let them act out part or all of their favorite book.
- Create pasta artwork. Pull out different types of pasta and let your children have fun. They can string it on yarn to create jewelry, glue it to paper to make artwork, or glue it together to make a sculpture. Once the glue dries, let them paint their masterpieces.
- Play Charades.
- Have a talent show.
